One of the traveler's adventures is to try the local cuisine of their destination. Filipino dishes evolved gracefully through time. The original Filipino dishes maintained it's classic taste but were influenced by Chinese, Spanish, Japanese and American twists.
Crisostomo Restaurant is one of the restaurants in the metro that offers Filipino dishes. The resto is located at 2nd Flr. Newport Mall Resorts World Manila. For more information pleasae refer to http://www.rwmanila.com/restaurants-at-resorts-world-manila/restaurant-directory/view/153 .
Crisostomo is the name of the main character in the famous novel Noli Me Tangere written by Dr. Jose Rizal ( Philippines' National Hero ). The menu dishes were named after the characters in the novel which are very interesting.
The interior design of the restaurant is classic inspired with the influence of Filipino house architecture during the Spanish regime.
For appetizer they serve dried corn, this is a local tidbit which is a bit salty but certainly a Filipino's favorite.
We tried two dishes for our late lunch. We had a seafood platter with coconut milk, fish, mussels, squids, prawns and vegetables like squash and long beans.
The other dish is the local version of chop seuy, sauted vegetables with squid and quail eggs. These dishes go well with white plain rice.
You can also try their cakes and pastries for dessert like ensaymada, egg pie and a lot more.
Give Crisostomo a visit and experience Filipino cuisine!

Hard Rock in Sentosa
Sentosa is an island in Singapore, it was developed as an "island of entertainment". Both tourists and locals will definitely find a lot of things to do. The transportation from mainland Singapore to Sentosa is very convenient, it may be a little crowded sometimes especially on public holidays.
In visiting Sentosa, riding Jewel cable car is one of the choices.
Tip1: If you choose to ride the cable car to Sentosa, you can buy ticket from Mt. Faber or Harbourfront Tower2. Please refer at http://www.mountfaber.com.sg/ .
In my case, we chose to take tickets from Harbourfront Tower 2.
The cable car station is located at 15th floor of Tower2, on the way up the guests can glimpse Harbourfront in full view.
On busy days there will be long queue but the staffs are fast enough to manage the traffic.
The cabin will give you 360 degrees visibility of the harbour and the forest on the way to Sentosa.
Sentosa's cable car station is in Imbiah, there is a photo souvenier shop offering cable car ride moments.
Since we chose to stay at Hard Rock Hotel in Resorts World, we need to walk from Imbiah to the hotel.
Of course the famous Merlion is proudly welcoming guests to the island.
Tip2: Hard Rock hotel is always fully booked, no wonder because the hotel is really hard rockin. Registration will be at the lobby, bring a lot of patience because most of the time the queue is long.
Tip3: While waiting for registration, guests can surely ask for drinks at the bar.
Tip4: Or maybe visit the souvenier shop and plan ahead which souveniers to buy.
Tip5: The hotel rooms in Hard Rock is of 5-star quality.
Tip6: It's better to book a room with pool view for more beautiful mornings.
At night, the hotel is very cozy.
Tip7: A live band is playing all time favorites for hotel's guests relaxing at the bar during evenings.
Tip8: Don't forget to take a dip at the pool, it's a good way to have some fun and enjoy the sun.
Tip9: Try to visit Hard Rock Cafe to grab a bite.
Tip10: If you're a fan, you will surely enjoy the collection of memorabilias from some of the famous artists.
Tip11: Hard Rock Cafe do have some promotions for their drinks, we got a chance to take home souvenier glasses.
We enjoyed their fajitas, pasta in white wine, soothing beef noodle and of course the drinks.
The hotel also offers complimentary buffet breakfast for the guests.
Tip12: Maximize your stay at Resorts World, stroll around and visit the casino.
Tip13: Watch The Crane Show and the light show at the Lake of Dreams. Better check the schedule at Resorts World website.
Tip14: Visit Candylicious for a whole new candy adventure.
Tip15: There are shows as well at Resorts World, always book the tickets ahead of time.
Tip16: Universal Studios is just around the corner, don't pass the chance of visiting specially when you have kids.
Tip17: There is also Festive Hotel, this hotel is recommended specially for families with children and if the family's choice is to have a "festive" visit to Resorts World.
Tip18: Near Festive Hotel are shops like Victoria's Secret, Mark and Spencer, and a lot more. During holidays they would have sale promotions for the shoppers.
Tip19: Don't forget to take home your Hard Rock postcard for your scrapbook or maybe just a reminder of a hard rockin stay.
