Beauty of Cologne

Cologne (  Köln  ) is the fourth largest city in Germany, this city was a part of our road trip. Since we got in the city by car, we just parked our vehicle at Koln Mall parking.

Tip1:There are quite a number of tourists in Cologne, better to bring map and read directions for a smooth travel.
Tip2: There are available walking tours to have a better understanding of the city's history.

For our travel we usually prepare our own itinerary, during our visit there we only want to see Cologne Cathedral and the famous River Rhine.

Tip3: Cologne Cathedral is located near train station, Koln Mall and the long stretch of more shopping malls.

Cologne Cathedral is breathtaking, I am captured by  it's beauty. The cathedral's architecture is of such beauty that a lot admires.
The city I can say is quite small, the weather is suitable for long walks around Cologne.

Tip4:  Try German bread like Berliner for snacks while walking around the city.

Tip5: Outdoor cafes are all over the place, a good spot to relax after shopping.

Tip6: Cross the bridge over River Rhine, for lovers you can leave a padlock with names engraved and locked it at the rails.
Tip7: For climbing enthusiasts, the wall  of the bridge in front of Hyatt Hotel is a good chance to take out your rapels and climb.

Tip8: I missed KFC and I was so glad to know that in Cologne we can munch KFC's fried chicken.
Tip9: Visit Rhine Park for a serene view of sunset,

and a better  view of Cologne Cathedral.

Christmas Eve in Kleve

Kleve, Germany is near Holland's border. Together with friends we went there to shop on Christmas eve, none of us imagined that this trip will give us a mini-adventure.

As residents of Nijmegen, Netherlands, it's convenient for us to shop for groceries in Kleve. It's just a bus -ride away, approximately 1 hour travel. It was Christmas eve, the city was nicely decorated.

We decided to go to Edeka, a big shopping mall to shop for goodies for the holidays.

I shopped for our favorite, pasta!

It's an avenue of shopping malls, comparing the price to Nijmegen it's cheaper in Kleve.

Together with friends we enjoyed strolling around the city, taking photographs and playing as kids until we decided to go home.

We waited for hours until we learned that there is no bus travelling back to Nijmegen anymore because it's Christmas. Our mini-adventure started, we need to re-route and try hard to communicate with a German taxi driver. Spent more euros for the taxi and try as fast as we can to reach a train station.

Catching our breath and trying hard not to panic, we were lucky enough to catch a train from Emmerich to Nijmegen.

Thank God because we reached home just in time to prepare for our very first Noche Buena together as a couple in Holland.
