The Hague: Seat of Dutch Government

The Hague is the seat of the Dutch government and parliament, the Supreme Court, and the Council of State. Likewise with all foreign embassies in the Netherlands and 150 international organizations are located in the city including the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court where our very own Senator Miriam Santiago won a seat as the first Filipino judge to win ICC election.

The city is typically crowded, we visited The Hague twice. One is early winter and the other is early autumn. There are quite a number of skyscrapers, I can say that I like The Hague more than Amsterdam.

Tip1: The city is quite crowded, it's always smart to look after your belongings. There are a lot of bicycles ( fietsen ) everywhere in Holland.

Tip2: Always bring the map and be attentive to the trains because you may ride the wrong train.

It's quite easy to go around the city with the map, it's nice to stroll with a fine weather. Enjoy browsing the pictures.

See the statue of William The Silent at city center.
